The Colombian army says it has killed a top commander from the country's second largest guerrilla group, the National Liberation Army (ELN).

Jose Amin Hernandez Manrique, known as Marquitos, was killed in the north-western province of Antioquia, the army said.
He led 13 ELN units in Antioquia and Bolivar provinces, according to the military.
The region is known for drugs and arms trafficking and illegal mining.
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, said on Twitter: "Alias Marquitos, commander of the Dario Martinez front and member of the national leadership of the ELN, has been killed. Congratulations to the armed forces."

Talks 'stalled'

The authorities believe Marquitos, also known as Marcos, was responsible for the 1999 hijacking of an aircraft with 46 passengers on board.
The ELN was founded in 1964 to fight Colombia's unequal distribution of land and wealth. It is now estimated to have about 2,000 active fighters.

The Marxist-inspired ELN rebel group has about 2,000 members, according to estimates
The ELN has had exploratory talks but has not entered into peace negotiations with the government, unlike the country's largest left-wing rebel group, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc).
In April, the ELN's commander in chief, Nicolas Rodríguez Bautista, told Reuters news agency that the agreement to start formal peace talks was 80% completed.
It is unclear whether Marquitos's death will affect preliminary talks, although many Colombians feel they have stalled, says the the BBC's Colombia correspondent Natalio Cosoy.
The Farc has called several times for the ELN to join their peace talks in the Cuban capital Havana.

President Bashir is in Johannesburg for an African Union (AU) summit.
He is accused of committing war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide during the Darfur conflict.
About 400,000 people have died and more than two million have fled their homes since rebels took up arms in 2003, the UN says.
Government forces and allied Arab militias are accused of targeting black African civilians in the fight against the rebels.

Tensions

President Bashir was welcomed by South African officials as he arrived in Johannesburg. After the court announced it would rule on a request to arrest him, he posed for a group photo with other African leaders.
The High Court initially said it would issue its ruling on Sunday. But it later postponed the hearing until Monday, when the summit is due to end.
There are tensions between the ICC and the AU, with some on the continent accusing the court of unfairly targeting Africans.
The warrants against Mr Bashir, who denies the allegations, have restricted his overseas travel. He has, however, visited friendly states in Africa and the Middle East

Vice-president, Yemi Osinbanjo who delivered  the 10th  anniversary lecture of Crescent University, Abeokuta, tagged, “The Nigerian Economy and the Future”, yesterday said that some tough decisions would have to be taken to put the country back on the path of genuine growth and development  in line with the All Progressives Party (APC) programme.

He also said that large-scale corrupt practices and dubious awards of contract in Nigeria’s power sector by past administrations were  responsible for inadequate and epileptic power supply in the country.

President Barack Obama\

President Barack Obama made a rare trip to Capitol Hill to drum up support for his "fast track" bill but Democrats in the House voted it down.
The measure would have allowed Mr Obama to negotiate global trade deals Congress could not change, but still approve or reject.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi led the charge against Mr Obama's plea.
Mrs Pelosi called on fellow Democrats to "slow down the fast track to get a better deal for the American people".
The vote specifically was for legislation to renew federal aid for workers who lose jobs because of imports.

The defeat of trade promotion authority legislation in the House of Representatives on Friday marks the beginning of the end of the Obama presidency. With the Republican Party firmly in control of Congress, Barack Obama's best hope for legislative success this year comes from finding common ground with his political opponents.
It's now clear that even on bipartisan issues, like trade, there is no guarantee the president can bring enough Democrats along to ensure success. While all this may sound dramatic, it's part of the inevitable circle of life in US politics.
Every day moves Mr Obama one step closer to the end of his term in office. His influence wanes, and attention turns to the 2016 election, campaigning for which is already well under way. Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton will likely take note of the president's latest rebuke. If she wants to be her party's standard-bearer, it helps to know which way progressive foot soldiers are marching.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi did not support Mr Obama's plea for party backing
Mrs Pelosi said she wants to "slow down" Mr Obama's aim to complete the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, with which this particular bill was intertwined. She said she wants a better deal for America's workers.
A second vote on a portion of the bill having to do with trade negotiating powers passed, but it will not advance without passage of the first part.
Business groups favoured the measure while organised labour groups lobbied against it.
Many Republicans were backing Mr Obama's bill, though some did not want to expand his power.
"I don't think you ever nail anything down around here. It's always moving," Mr Obama said as he left the House floor.

This is according to a story by Hollywood Life. Chris has been super nice to Nia - he even sent her a thoughtful and very heartfelt card for her birthday on June 6. Inside, he wrote that she’s a beautiful and wonderful mother to Royalty. He told her he couldn’t be happier that she’s Royalty’s mother. Chris even did the unthinkable — he included a check for $5,000.00 in the card. He wanted to prove to Nia that he’s not stingy when it comes to money and that he will take care of his family by all means necessary,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com

At this time, Chris gets Royalty “ever other week,” but in the future, he’s hoping to get more time with her. And he even wants to “do a little more play dates with the young Hollywood kids,” Chris recently told Ryan Seacrest. Perhaps that $5,000 will help persuade Nia to give Chris more time with Royalty
